HISTORY
The purpose of this organization is to continue the work begun
in 1931
by individuals interested in, and close to, the psychic work of Edgar
Cayce. This work, referred to as readings, led to the formation of
small groups of individuals, now called Study Groups, whose purpose is
to help each individual member with the study and daily application of
the suggestions given in the readings. These suggestions are compilied
in the Search For God books published by A.R.E. Press, and are to aid
individual understanding of our relationship to the Creator, and in so
doing, our relationship to others.
PHILOSOPHY
We agree that for the proper functioning
of this group, we find it
helpful to focus our activities on the furthering of the Study Group
format and understanding its related literature. While we believe this
to be one way a person may find understanding, we also encourage
comparative study and discussion so as not to allow this Study Group
material to be simply accepted without question.
The readings themselves proposed that research be conducted by applying
the suggestions, not just talking about them. We also feel that the
individual self is the ideal means to conduct this research. This is
the reason for the stress placed on application in daily life, not on
some outside authority.
Participation in this area's Core Team is open to all Study Group
members who wish to become part of it.
MISSION
In furthering the purpose of the Central Arizona Area Study
Groups, we
will conduct regular business meetings during which we will also
discuss ways to reach out to others who may be interested in this work.
We will sponsor activities deemed appropriate to the outreach of
others, and to the furthering of our own understanding, so long as
those activities are consistent with the study and application of the
material in the Search for God books.
DONATE YOUR USED METAPHYSICAL BOOKS
Do you have used metaphysical books that have not been looked
at for
several years or more? Are they taking up space that might be put to
better use? Would you like to find a new home for these older items and
make way for somthing new to enter into your life instead?
Why not donate these books to the local A.R.E. organization and let
them find a new home for them? They will be sold at local A.R.E.
functions and the proceeds used to support local A.R.E. activities
including the maintenance of this web page Newsletter.
